Raise the Level in the Room

For senior grapplers, the best way to improve is to help your training partners improve.

If you find yourself in a situation where you're the most advanced grappler in the room, you should switch your training focus to improving other members of your team. Although counterintuitive, this may result in the most improvement to your own game.

This is because you are only as good as the quality of your training, and training against inferior opponents yields diminishing returns.

Rather than simply winning the roll and moving on, take a moment to explain to your opponent why your game worked and theirs didn't. In other words, help your training partners learn how to defeat you.

As the saying goes, iron sharpens iron.
